Painting the Airfix Spitfires
The next job is to apply the paint to the Spitfires. One is in what is known as Scheme A and the other B. The schemes look similar but they are mirrored left to right from each other.
Preparing the Spitfires for paint
There are a few things to do before the Spitfires can be painted. Time to get them done.
Hawse pipes and little boats
While looking at reerences I noticed that the anchor chains are guided off the ship via hawse pipes.
Adding some supports and a mast
I had planned on starting to paint the superstructure but on looking at references I noticed some missing support masts.
Fitting the wings onto the Spitfires
With the wings together, it's time to get them fitted.
Building the Spitfire fuselages
The next step is to fit the cockpit into the fuselage and join the two halves together.
Ouida Memoria, Bury St Edmunds
Built in the early 20th century in freestone with bronze figures, this is a monument to the novelist Ouida Louise De La Ramee.
Boot top for the RM Pola
While thinking of what to do next with the Pola, I noticed a black line!
Tamiya Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat (1/48)
The Wildcat was a carrier based aircraft used by the US Navy and Marine Corpo early in World War 2.
Painting and assembling the Phantom cockpit
The next job is to paint the cockpit parts and assembling it ready for insertion into the fuselage.
