I had planned on starting to paint the superstructure but on looking at references I noticed some missing support masts.

ile watching some Youtube videos I noticed you can get building jigs for boats. Then I remembered I have a jig for planes. Turning the ends round to get more support and using the wing supports to steady it, I think this will work.

Dry fitting the turrets and suprtstructure. Looks like a boat.

I taped the rear spotting structure to the mast. As can be seen, the structure just hovers which is wrong. The mast should actually be a tripod mast.

I drilled some holes through the spotting platform for some 2mm rod.

Withe the rods trimmed to length, the upper spotting platform can be fitted and the holes filled.

Access to the spotting platform is via a long ladder. A full length of photo etch ladder from White Ensign was glued to the mast.

The conning tower is next. On the lower level there is a wing platform on either side. This was made from some 2mm strip.

The main bridge is ssupported by posts which do all the way down to the main deck. These were made from 1mm rod. The block on the top should be 4 posts to support the main director platform but I think I will leave it as it is.

There is a ladder on the rear of each main turret. More White Ensign ladder, this time trimmed to length. Turret 2 and 3 also have a range finder on the roof. The kit has them too high so I lowered them when fitting.

Going back to where we started, dry fitting things again. It definitely looks better with the modifications.

The next step will (maybe) be somne paint for the superstructure.
