The F-4C Phantom was the first version of the Phantom used by the USAF.

The Phantom was designed as an interceptor and ground attack aircraft for the US Navy and Marine Corp. It was also accepted for service with the US Air Force as the F-110A which was a very simiklar aircraft to the Navy's F-4B. In the early 1960s, the naming of all US aircraft was rationalised and the F-110 became the F-4C.

In the 1965 the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing (The Wolfpack) deployed to Ubon air base in Thailand in support of the Vietname Way. In September 1966 Col. Robin Olds took command of the 8th TFW. During WW2 Olds shot down a number of German aircraft and officially shot down 4 MiGs during the Vietnam Way.

The aircraft to be modelled will depict the aircraft flown by Olds at about the time of Operation Bolo in early 1967.

There's a lot of plastic in the box. Not all is for this version of the kit.

There's only one colour scheme in the kit. An aircraft flown by Col. Olds in Vietname.

Lots of stencils, but not quite as many fior a navy aircraft.

There's not many aircraft specific decals,.

Lots of aftermarket for this one. First canopuy frames from Hypersonic, with Eduard wheels and masks.

Quickboost seats, Eduard exhausts and Hypersonic air-con. intakes.

Engine auxilliary intakes from Aeries, Yahu instruments, Alleycat seamless intakes and the Eduard instrument panel option.

Eduard photo etch for the air brakes and undercarriage bays complte the haul.

The first step will be to start on the cockpit.
