I had planned on painting the superstructure, but while watching a Youtube video I didscovered Micro Master 3D who produce details parts for model ships. So Idecided to get some for the Pola. These need a little preparation before painting.

Time for the finishing touches for the Airfix Spitfires, starting with the propellers.

After a coat of VMS gloss varnish, it's time to put the gear together and get the aircraft onto their wheels.

After giving the Spitfires a coat of VMS gloss varnish to seal and protect the paint, the next job it to apply the decsals.

The next job is to apply the paint to the Spitfires. One is in what is known as Scheme A and the other B. The schemes look similar but they are mirrored left to right from each other.

There are a few things to do before the Spitfires can be painted. Time to get them done.

While looking at reerences I noticed that the anchor chains are guided off the ship via hawse pipes.
